PCC has a missions opportunity to participate in financial and prayer support to provide a Fire Truck to Bongolo Hospital (
www.bongolohospital.org ). The hospital, a 132-bed facility south of the equator in the jungle of Gabon is a Christian Missionary and Alliance site. Bongolo has Outpatient, Surgery, Adult Medicine, Maternity and Pediatrics Departments as well as a Laboratory plus Dental and Eye Surgery Clinics and an AIDS/HIV Treatment Center and a Nursing school, all needed specialties in the area as well as a surgical residency program.

The purpose of Bongolo Hospital is to train African doctors to be surgeons in a five year residency program and to provide loving and caring services for the sick with devotion and expertise, and for leading as many of them as possible to faith in Jesus Christ; over 1,000 Gabonese accepted Christ in 2009 at the hospital. Bongolo serves about one third of the population of the country.

Joanna Conquest Thelander, daughter of Dave and Diann Conquest and her husband, Dr. Keir Thelander, surgeon, Bongolo Medical Director, Program Director of Pan African Academy of Christian Surgeons and their children Luke (7-1/2) and Sarah (5-1/2) have served as missionaries at Bongolo Hospital for four years.

Medicines and equipment were lost in a fire in a medical storage building in August 2009. The hospital is over 200 miles from the nearest fire station.
Your tax deductible check may be made out to Pittsford Community Church with "Bongolo Fire Truck" in the note.
