The final nine books of the New Testament are epistolary in form, written to instruct readers in spiritual matters. Because these nine epistles were written by various men, they have been labeled, the General Epistles.
In contrast to many of Paul's writings, the General Epistles were written during the years of heavy Roman persecution of the Christian population and even greater challenges from false teaching. These challenges are very evident in the content and tone of these last nine books.
As we come to the end, Revelations displays Jesus in ultimate victory as God records His last words about the final days and completes the picture of His Son, the Lamb of God and the Lion of Judah. A fitting summation to His Amazing Collection!
